By utilizing an iterative process to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create solutions, manufacturers can improve supply chain agility and resilience. Design thinking starts by empathizing with end-users – in this case, customers, suppliers, and other supply chain stakeholders. By tapping into their experiences and challenges, it can be easier to identify areas of improvement. This panel discussion will examine ways to foster creative solutions, to test ideas for feasibility, to make iterative improvements on working solutions, and incorporate human-centered design.
How do you know when maintaining an existing system is more costly than investing in a newer, better solution? This panel discussion will examine how to know when you’ve reached the tipping point, how this type of debt can be “paid off,” and how to create a smart strategy that will avoid accumulating technical debt in the future.
What are some of the most promising use cases for quantum computing? Find out how this technology can optimize manufacturing operations while overcoming complexity from the supply chain to the shop floor to the end consumer.
A resilient, robust digital network is the essential backbone to digital transformation. But getting the right network in place requires careful consideration and planning. Manufacturers are finding more and more benefits to bringing AR and VR into their operations. This includes frontline worker training, which can allow for faster skill development, boosted productivity, and fewer errors. Other applications include remote maintenance and technical support, as well as getting real-time feedback from customers that can be incorporated into future product development.
Equipment failure can lead to costly downtime and reduced productivity, but manufacturers may find it challenging to move toward a more predictive posture, centralized around condition-based monitoring. Learn about the benefits of predictive maintenance while also discussing how to develop a strategy that can get you there, faster.
Faced with a need to accommodate surging demand, Northrop Grumman set out to unlock greater factory capacity to keep pace. Manufacturing teams knew that efficiency could be improved, and that factory leaders needed a system where they could identify their most crucial production bottlenecks. Meanwhile, the company also needed to adopt an industrial connectivity solution that could accommodate legacy machines at some older factories. In this session, you’ll hear in-depth details and lessons learned about Northrop Grumman’s journey, which ultimately allowed it to improve OEE, address changeover issues, and confront persistent rework challenges, while also increasing throughput and recovering lost time.

West Monroe is a digital services firm that was born in technology but built for business—partnering with companies in transformative industries to deliver quantifiable financial value. We believe that digital is a mindset—not a project, a team, or a destination—and it’s something companies become, not something they do. That’s why we work in diverse, multidisciplinary teams that blend management consulting, digital design, and product engineering to move companies from traditional ways of working to digital operating models—and create experiences that transcend the digital and physical worlds. Connected by the five values that drive our culture, our 2,000 employees work collaboratively across the firm with the belief that our clients’ success is our success.
